Some believe that the life of a people can be read in more than just bones and tissue samples, but in the art those people produced. Through art we know their desires, their religions, who they respected, and even the intricacies of their society. The museum is a testament to that very thing, as it houses works of art spread throughout the ages.
Like everything else in the downtown area, nothing but the finest was used in renovating this old building into a beacon of beauty and security. While the outside is kept very plain, the inside is laid with Italian Marble, art deco fixtures, and light specifically engineered so that it would not damage the priceless artifacts inside. Security patrols the building at all hours and when the museum closes for the night, the windows and doors are protected by rich ironwork gates.
Time Plays Tricks on the Mind
For the first time ever, the New Marseilles Museum Art is featuring a very special collection devoted to the digital age. While the mainstay pieces are still present, an entire wing of the museum has been turned into a videogamer's dream. Orchestrated versions of various soundtracks play through out the area and small sections have displays set up so that visitors may taste the classics such as Pong or try some of the new creations to hit the shelves. Unfortunately, due to the age restrictions on some of the present titles, all children under the age of 18 entering the area, must be accompanied by an adult. All questions in regards the new exhibit should be directed to the Exhibit Coordinator Mr. Handel.
